Singles Golf Party--Monday Nights

Our weekly Learn to Golf Party at Kennedy Golf course is attracting from 20 to 30 people every Monday afternoon.  Come join us!

The "really-beginner" golf events go from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the short Par-3 Course at Kennedy Golf Course at East Hampden and South Havana.  Meet us outside on the West patio overlooking the course.

Age Group--45 to 63 (the Baby Boom Generation)
For Beginners--Two men will team with two women to play on the Par-3 course.
Meet and Learn--This is not serious competitive league play. The purpose is for adult singles to meet and enjoy a fun sport.  It is a singles party at sunset on a lawn you don't have to mow.
Scramble Format--In this team eventm everyone hits their first drive. Then ball landing in the best location is selected. Everyone moves their ball to that location and plays from there. Beginner golfers become "putt leaders" showing teammates the line of the first putt. Occasionally they make one.
Volunteer Instructors--Experienced golfers are teamed with beginners to give tips on techniques and help them learn on-course skills. Many women have taken lessons but never felt comfortable on a full-length course.
Cost--$15 per person includes green fee, tee time and organization.
Need Clubs?--Loaner sets of 4-5 clubs are available at no cost.
Fast Play--The Par-3 can be played in under two hours compared to a nine hole course at over 2 1/2 hours.
Changing Clothes--The lower level restrooms at Kennedy are large, more private and can be used for changing from work attire into comfortable clothing.
No Commitment--You do not have to play each week or rush from work. Tee times will start at 5:30 and go until 6:30 p.m. Everyone should be finished by 8:30.
Bad Weather--We won't play but will still get together for indoor lessons, the meet & greet party, snacks, music and maybe some table-to-table speed dating.
No Event Conflicts--Scheduled on Monday nights to avoid Tuesday Downtown Organization (TDO) parties, Elway's Nightclub Patio Parties on Wednesday nights and Marti's Glenmoor Party on Thursday nights. Also American Idol and Dancing with The Stars are over.
Friendly Competition--Team scores can be compared over drinks at the end of play for bragging rights.
